Only together can we achieve a just transition

Brand Media Bulgaria showed that sustainable solutions for the region can be sought and found through partnerships and dialogue between the parties concerned. This statement was part of the opening speech of the Pernik Regional Governor Lyudmil Veselinov, who participated in the international conference "Just Transition in Pernik", organized by Brand Media Bulgaria, publisher of Economic.bg, as part of the European project "TOP JOBS".

At our first meeting last year (editor's note – part of the previous European project of Brand Media Bulgaria - "Transition Opportunities"), it became clear that only through conversations between businesses and expert communities, unions and employers can we achieve the most transparent and smooth transition to a carbon-neutral economy," said Veselinov.

He highlighted the enormous contribution made by Bulgaria's coal regions – Pernik, Stara Zagora and Kyustendil – to achieving a truly just transition.

From now on, at these meetings, we need to start communicating with the expert community. I am grateful that today's meeting will also be focused on this topic and will have the best possible result," concluded the regional governor.
